Today the Church celebrates the Liturgical Commemoration of St Therese of the Child Jesus, affectionately known as the Little Flower. In our morning Mass, Fr Dean Bradbury, who gave the homily, invited us to “ask St Vincent Pallotti and St Therese to help today in our discernment and voting”. And so we gathered in the Conference Hall at 9am and having invoked the Holy Spirit and prayed we proceeded with the voting.

The Assembly elected Fr Zenon Hanas as Rector General. The result of the election was greeted by prolonged applause.

We gathered in the chapel where the Procurator General, Fr Adam Golec, invited Fr Zenon to make the Profession of Faith and Promise of Fidelity. In this ceremony Fr Zenon formally began his mandate as Rector General.

We pray God’s blessing on him today and throughout his term of office.
